We’re originally from Oklahoma, but after moving to Bondurant three years ago, we quickly fell in love with this community and wanted to put down roots.
When we’re not at the facility, you can usually find us camping, exploring a trail, or spending time outdoors with our kids and our dogs.
Dogs have always been a big part of our family, and that’s exactly why we created Rusty’s Retreat. A place we’d feel completely confident leaving our own dogs. A place where every pup is treated like family, cared for with the same love, patience, and joy we give our own.

Rusty was my first “grown‑up” dog, a puggle with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was clever, silly, stubborn in all the funniest ways, and the kind of dog who made every day brighter. Rusty may be gone, but his joy and spirit live on here in every wagging tail.

These are our dogs; Merry, Pippin, and Zoey. They are usually found piled on a lap, riding shotgun, or causing double trouble. They’re part of our family and part of the heart behind Rusty’s Retreat.
